Frequently Asked Questions
Which flight plan formats are currently supported by Preflight Reader?
Preflight currently targets Flight Keys OFP releases generated for Norse Atlantic Airways. The parser has been tested against long-haul transatlantic flight releases. Support for additional airline profiles and SimBrief formats is in active evaluation.
Does Preflight or HOYD require an active internet connection?
No. Both applications are built to run 100% offline. Once documents are opened or sectors are logged, all calculations occur locally on-device. You can freely use all features in airplane mode on the flight deck.
How do the apps handle pilot data and operational privacy?
Both applications operate under a zero-telemetry architecture. Flight plans and logbook entries are processed and stored only within your device's local iOS sandbox (and your private Apple iCloud account for HOYD). No data is ever transmitted to external servers, cloud databases, or third-party analytics providers.
